Stars Championship Skills Meets

Over the years we have listened to both you and your gymnasts, and are proud to introduce to you a new era for recreational gymnastics. In many other sports the athlete practices during the week and is given the opportunity to show their friends and family their accomplishments during a game on the weekend. We feel it is important for our gymnasts to have that same sense of accomplishment. That is why we are excited to offer each of our gymnasts the opportunity to compete. We have collaborated with other gyms in the area to offer five recreational gymnastics meets in the coming months. We are looking forward to helping your child develop their self-confidence and increase their love for the sport of gymnastics. In most programs, gymnastics competitions have only been offered to our pre-team and team level classes. These fun meets will now give your gymnast a chance to have the entire gymnastics experience. When your son/daughter watches their favorite gymnast on television they will no longer have to wonder what it feels like to perform in front of their friends and family at a competition. We hope you will agree and give your gymnast the chance to compete with Maximum Athletic Center in the upcoming season of Gym Stars Skills Meets.

At the meets each gymnast will perform three skills on each of the four Olympic events. They will only be judged on their individual performances. We feel it is important for every gymnast to leave the competition knowing they are winners. Each gymnast will receive a medal for participating. Additionally, they are guaranteed a ribbon on each event. If the gymnast can successfully complete all three skills, they will receive a blue ribbon for that event. If they perform only two of the skills, they will receive a red ribbon. A white ribbon is awarded for completing one skill, and a yellow ribbon is awarded for participation in the event if the gymnast is unable to perform any of the skills. At the end of the meet, a medal is awarded to each child who participated in the event. At the final meet, each gymnast who has participated will receive a trophy. Our goal is to let gymnasts gain self-confidence while performing for their friends and families.

We think these fun meets will give all of our recreational gymnasts the opportunity to shine at their own level in the sport. To enhance their competition experience we will be ordering a leotard for all of the gymnasts to wear at the fun meets. It is suggested that each athlete participate 3 meets and purchase the gym leotard or t-shirt (boys). This is not a “competition” where gymnasts will place against each other. It is more like a fun recital.
